Compliance Methodology Disclosure
Updated: March 28, 2026, at 3:07 PM

Propriety provides a compliance scoring system designed to help taxpayers monitor and maintain positive tax compliance habits. Compliance scores are generated through Propriety’s internal methodology, which evaluates certain tax-related activities associated with a taxpayer’s account.

The compliance score reflects activity within several general compliance categories, including:

  1. Tax Return Filing – the timely filing of required tax returns.

  2. Filing Extensions – submission of applicable filing extensions when additional time to file a return is needed.

  3. Monthly Bookkeeping Activity – maintenance and organization of financial records that support accurate tax reporting.

  4. Estimated Tax Payments – periodic tax payments made throughout the year when applicable.

Participation in these activities may result in the accumulation of compliance points within a user’s account.

Points System

Propriety utilizes a points-based framework to track compliance activity. Under this system:

  • One (1) point is equivalent to $0.01 in program value.

  • Points may accumulate as qualifying compliance activities are recorded within the platform.

The number of points associated with a particular activity may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to:

  • the general classification or type of tax filing involved

  • the nature and scope of the compliance activity performed

  • the relative level of service or engagement associated with that activity

Point allocations are determined according to Propriety’s internal program guidelines and may be periodically updated to reflect platform improvements or changes to service structures.

Informational Nature of Compliance Scores

Compliance scores are intended solely as an informational tool to encourage awareness and participation in routine tax compliance practices. Scores do not represent a credit score, financial rating, legal determination, or evaluation by any governmental authority.

Propriety does not guarantee any financial outcome, tax result, or benefit based on a user’s compliance score or points balance.

Program Modifications

Propriety reserves the right to modify the compliance scoring methodology, point allocations, or qualifying activities at any time in order to improve program functionality, accuracy, or user experience.
